Exceptionally, the International Exhibition, which is a traditional part of the Brno Biennial, leaves aside the work of professionals to focus instead on work created by students. The accompanying exhibitions map the theme of education in a range of aspects: in a variety of educational systems, school assignments and exercises; in the breadth of study materials; in an overview of historical development; and in a specific environment in which education takes place. The work of educators is represented by an exhibition project involving Brno Biennial Grand Prix winners Mevis & Van Deursen (2012), and an exhibition providing an overview of the work of Czech designer and educator Rostislav Vaněk. A new accompaniment to this Brno Biennial is the OFF program – an open space hosting a wide range of self-organized activities, workshops, interventions and presentations.
